Mad Gringo = Vacation

I started my vacation this past Friday. When I packed for my trip the most important things that I wanted to take with me were my Mad Gringo Hawaiian shirts, hat and flip flops. I bought all of my shirts (5 of them) and the Mad Gringo sent me a baseball hat and a pair of flip flops. I am not big on flip flops because I am afraid to step on something and won't know it because of my Neuroupathy. I have not had bare feet in a long time but I tried out the flip flops.

Mad Feet

I really like the design of them because they have the great Mad Gringo logo on them. They are also pretty basic and easy to wear as well. Comfortable and great for the beach. The baseball hat is a light green one with a white Mad Gringo logo on it. I like that one much better than the blue one that I bought Allison.

I'm on Vacation Gear

I love how relaxed I feel in my Mad Gringo gear.

This isn't a sponsored post, just wanted to let you know about a great place online to get some awesome clothing and also to learn about taking life at a slower pace.

Win a Mad Gringo Hawaiian Shirt

During the Month of December I am holding a contest in conjunction with The Mad Gringo at at http://www.madgringo.com/. We will be giving some lucky bloggers sweet Mad Gringo Swag including an authentic Mad Gringo Hawaiian Shirt or Mad Gringo Sarong if you would prefer. I own two Mad Gringo Hawaiian shirts and they are incredibly comfortable and look great.

I discovered the Mad Gringo site and fell in love with the idea of "Go Slow". That relaxed lifestyle where you aren't constrained by the corporate life and you follow the Mad Gringo within yourself. So enamored was I that I went on a Mad Gringo sized shopping spree and bought 5 shirts in a whack. I also decided that the Mad Gringo and the Wired Kayaker had something in common. Being a flat water kayaker I'm all about Going Slow and enjoying life. I figure I might as well look stylish doing so.

The Mad Gringo website is a very magical place for me. For one thing there are all the great Hawaiian shirts, but that is not all. Mad Gringo has added a ton more products to his line up. There are T-Shirts, Caribbean Golf and Bucket hats, Flip Flop Bottle openers as well as Flip Flops featuring the Mad Gringo Pineapple skull and crossbones logo. You can even get the Mad Gringo in your life a gift basket, and this is one they will love. If you spring for the Grande Version you can get a ton of sweet stuff. Just look.

Gift Package "Grande" contains:

  • 1 Official Mad Gringo Go Slow shirt. You choose the pattern.
  • 1 Pair of Mad Gringo Flip Flops
  • 1 Boat Flag. You choose color. or Mad Gringo Tee. I don't care.
  • 1 Mad Gringo Golf Hat or Floppy Beach Hat. Choose color.
  • 1 Bottle of Rocky Mountain Sunscreen with a carabiners clip to attach to your belt.
  • 1 Mad Gringo Flip Flop Bottle Opener Keychain. Choose color.
  • 1 Beer bucket. Can also hold a small palm tree. Very small.
All for just $89 + shipping. Amazing.
And you get free shipping on all orders over $70.00. Christmas is coming and the Gringos need gifts. But you can win your Gringos some sweet gifts by entering this contest.

Do you have a vacation on the horizon, Mad Gringo is the one place where you can get a Vacation Countdown to proudly display on your blog. Will your upcoming vacation help you "Go Slow"? If so tell us about it. To enter the contest please write a blog post detailing how your vacation will help you "Go Slow" in your life. And also tell us how a Mad Gringo Hawaiian shirt would help you in your quest to "Go Slow" while on Vacation. Hawaiian shirts tell people, "Hold all my calls, I'm on Vacation."

Podcast: Beach walks with Rox

Because of The Mad Gringo I am learning all about people who are of the "go Slow" mentality and added tot hat list is Roxanne of Beach Walks with Rox. Roxanne and the secret cameraman Shane take walks along the beautiful beaches of Hawaii. Throughout these five minute walks Rox talks about a variety of topics. She is poised and articulate and her thoughts are very very interesting. She's already up to Beach walk #540.

This was the first one that I watched and I really like the ideas that Rox talks about in this episode.

Also Rox is inspiring because she has a company called Bare Feet Studios and produces all her videos in Hawaii. That is very very cool. A dream job of mine would be video production and filming on location in Hawaii. Maybe if I ever get out there I could do a Wired Kayaker episode with Rox. Now that would be pretty awesome. She paddles a 6 person outrigger canoe so I bet kayaking would be right perfect for her as well.

The Mad Gringo has arrived....

Photo-A-Day #944b 11/08/07

Well, the stuff I ordered from Mad Gringo arrived. Back on the 5th of October I did a blog post for The Mad Gringo on my blog BenSpark 2: Electric Boogaloo. It was all about going slow, the way of life of the Mad Gringo. I love that motto. So I went to the site and saw that they had stickers that said Go Slow or Die. I wanted some so I started an order. For 20 stickers at $1.00 each the shipping was almost half the price so I wrote to the Mad Gringo. Unfortunately there wasn't much that we could do about shipping but he said he'd send me a few of them. Sweet! this was a nice guy who knew that people who were interested in his stuff would talk it up to friends and family alike.

I went back to the site and looked closer. There I discovered the Trunk. this is where the close outs are. These are shirts that the Gringo is clearing out and they are 1/2 price. Well, I went and bought 3 shirts, and two T-Shirts because the logo is awesome. I immediately wrote the Mad Gringo back and told him of my purchase and he tossed in some stickers for me. Now I am back in the office and my Go Slow or Die sticker is in my cubicle. I've distributed my Go Slow stickers to friends and am looking forward to later this week when I can wear my Mad Gringo Hawaiian Shirts to Blog World Expo.

There may even be a contest for you to get your own Mad Gringo shirt. I've got to talk to the Mad Gringo again to set it up. Watch this blog in for more details.
