Podcast: Wired Kayaker Podcast #1

My Filming Rig.

I am attempting to create a legitimate podcast for The Wired Kayaker. I need to research more on what equipment and software I would need to make a good podcast. I used Adobe Premier 2.0 and PhotoShop Elements 4.0 to create the final video and podcast title. I used my Sanyo Xacti C4 to film and my Gorillapod to capture the video portions. I also used my Canon SD800is on my QuikPod to get the title image and various photos while paddling. The music for the podcast is Bright, Driving 2007. I downloaded this royalty free from Incompetech.com.

My paddle today was on the Bungay River. I paddled for about 2 hours and had a very good time. I saw plenty of turtles, birds and two water snakes. I ended up losing my hat, but I recovered it. I also made an outtakes video. That chronicles the loss of the hat and other misadventures.

What I really need to make a great podcast is the Sanyo Xacti VPC-E1 6MP Waterproof MPEG4 Camcorder. Well, if I can get the money together to buy one or get some sponsorship for this podcast it may turn into something very interesting.

I paddle mostly around New England and the only other place I have gone has been Aruba. I want to learn more places to go so that The Wired Kayaker Podcast is more exciting.

Also you may notice that I am wearing a cowboy hat in the podcast. I will be wearing hats of many different kinds, if you have a hat that you want me to wear in a podcast leave me a comment and we can discuss. If you are a kayak rep or kayak manufacturer and would like me to do a show on your product or gadget let me know in the comments and we can discuss it.

And Speaking of discussions, I have a Wired Kayaker Forum that you are welcome to join. We can discuss trips, locations, gear, and this podcast.
